Glyn Davies, Conservative MP for Montgomeryshire, last week joined Montgomeryshire based Monty’s Brewery in unveiling their award winning Sunshine Ale into the Strangers Bar in the Houses of Parliament.
Glyn joined Monty’s head brewer Pam Honeyman, and owner Russ Honeyman for the launch of Sunshine into the Strangers Bar last Wednesday (12th February). They were joined by several other MPs, including Andrew Griffiths MP, chairman of the All-Party Parliamentary Beer Group.
Monty’s brewery was established in 2009 in Montgomery, brewing fourteen ales and seasonal beers. Its flagship ale Sunshine has won multiple awards, including being listed in the Independent Newspaper’s ‘Top 50 Beers’, and being featured in Ben McFarland’s ‘Boutique Beers – 500 of the World’s finest Craft Beers.’
Commenting on the launch of Sunshine into the Strangers Bar, Glyn Davies MP said:
“It’s great to see Monty’s brewery achieve such fantastic success in the five years it’s been operating. They are one of a number of fine breweries based in Montgomeryshire.
“I was very happy to help Pam and Russ Honeyman by arranging Sunshine to be included as one of the Strangers Bar’s guest ales; it’s a really nice beer which has rightly won a number of accolades.
“I’m very much looking forward to visiting the brewery in Montgomery.”
