Work has commenced on a £50,000 road resurfacing programme in Glyncoch thanks to the ongoing commitment by Rhondda Cynon Taf Council to continually invest in its highways infrastructure.
For the following week the work will be carried out between Glyncoch Terrace and Craig yr Hesg Primary School. It will involve the complete resurfacing of the carriageway.
The Council’s Highways Team have chosen this week to carry out the work in an effort to take advantage of reduced traffic flows during the school’s half-term holidays. This will also eliminate any disruption to the school itself.
The works are being carried out under traffic-light control outside of peak hours.
Rhondda Cynon Taf Council’s Cabinet Member for Transport and Customer Care Cllr Andrew Morgan explained: “A multi-million pound highways investment programme continues throughout the county borough as part of our commitment to maintain and improve the road infrastructure.
“Over £4million is being investment by the Council and the Welsh Assembly Government on top of the £90million construction of the Church Village Bypass.
“The major resurfacing scheme is yet another example of the widespread investment programme being undertaken by the Council for the benefit of residents and visitors alike.”
