An annual charity golf tournament was inundated with entries this year, with 30 teams taking part to help raise funds for Disability Sport Wales.
In total 120 golfers took part in the recent Charity Golf Day at Bryn Meadows Golf Club, ranging from complete beginners to regular players.
The annual tournament has been a regular fixture of the Sport Caerphilly and the Friends of Newbridge Leisure Centre sporting calendar since 2011, with over £3000 raised this year. All proceeds from the event will help provide disabled children with access to high quality and inclusive sporting opportunities.
Cllr Dave Poole, Cabinet Member for Community and Leisure Services, commented, “Thanks to everyone who took part in this great day of golf. We are proud in Caerphilly County Borough to be able to provide disabled people with great opportunities to enjoy sport and the money raised will ensure we can continue to offer high quality, inclusive sport to all our residents regardless of their disability.”
Prizes for the golfers were donated by local businesses and refreshments for the day were donated by Sainsbury’s.
