A fantastic line up of performers has been confirmed for the first ever Gwyl Ger y Môr, a celebration of Welsh culture being staged by Denbighshire County Council on Bank Holiday Monday (August 25).
The event will be held at the Rhyl Events Arena between 12pm and 8pm. The artists confirmed are Bryn Fôn, Gwibdaith Hen Fran, Y Moniars, Piantel, Meinir Gwilym, Sunami and Gildas.
Jamie Groves, Denbighshire’s Head of Communication, Marketing and Leisure, said: “Gwyl Ger y Môr is the first dedicated Welsh cultural event arranged by the Council in Rhyl.
“As a Council we have made a firm commitment to enhancing the use of the Welsh language in our county and encouraging residents and visitors to gain a better understanding of Welsh culture and traditions.
“The Council is also eager to showcase some of the biggest names in the Welsh music industry and the Events Arena in Rhyl provides a great location for events such as Gwyl Ger y Môr and we are delighted to have secured such a prestigious line-up.
“We now have a greater focus in Denbighshire on attracting and arranging major events that will assist in promoting Welsh culture, but also ensuring that local businesses and the wider Denbighshire economy benefit from our new approach.”
