Many of Gwynedd’s sport clubs and institutions have a reason to celebrate after being awarded funding worth a total of £9,745 from Gwynedd’s Community Chest Fund.
12 clubs will benefit from the funding and it will be a fantastic opportunity to develop and promote sport activities throughout the county. From yoga sessions to football for girls, the funding will be a boost for a variety of different clubs in Gwynedd.
Councillor Roy Owen, who leads on sport and leisure on Gwynedd Council, said:
“It’s great to announce that Gwynedd Council has been able to share £9,745 to give financial support to a number of sport clubs and institutions in the county.
“This shows that the Council continues to see the value of sport clubs to nurture and develop skills in various fields. These clubs also play a big role in our communities and they offer a great chance to make new friends and to socialise.”
These are the sporting clubs and institutions that were successful this time:
Caernarfon Golf Club Junior Section – Funding has been secured for them to have a coach and volunteers to hold training sessions with young golfers.
Caernarfon Town Girls F.C. – The Community Chest Grant will help the club to buy new equipment to establish an under 14 team.
Pwllheli Rugby Club, Nefyn Football Club, Llanystumdwy Football Club, Bala Youth Football Club – Funding will allow the clubs to send staff on coaching courses.
Bala Sailing Club Training Centre – After success with the traditional sessions for the youth, the club will use the funding to buy inflatable buoys so the club will be able to offer extra sessions to develop adult skill levels.
