Gwynedd Council is reminding all households in the county that they should complete and return the census questionnaire.
On 27 March every household in the UK will be asked to complete the survey which asks for simple information such as how many people live in a household, whether they are working or not and standard of living.
The survey, carried our just once every ten years, helps the government and the Council to discover information such as population figures, how our society is changing, and which services are needed to answer people’s needs.
From the information gathered Gwynedd Council can gauge how best to plan ahead and invest in the public services we all use.
For the first time ever you can complete the census on-line, making it easier and quicker than ever to take part.
Councillor Dyfed Edwards, leader of Gwynedd Council, said: “A lot has changed in the ten years since the last time we were asked to fill in the census. It’s important that we all play our part in shaping a better future by making sure that the government understands how families live here in Gwynedd and what support and services our communities need.
“I would urge people to keep an eye out for the census questionnaire which should have dropped through their letter boxes during the last few days, or to visit the secure census website where the questionnaire can be filled in online.”
