Free gym inductions and swimming will be available to people wanting to get an early start on reaching their New Year fitness goals.
Swansea Council is offering the incentives at its Active Swansea community leisure centres to help anyone looking to beat the bulge or tone up over the festive season.
The offers run from Saturday December 19 to Sunday January 3.
People attending the gym inductions will be shown how to correctly use the range of cardio equipment and resistance machines by a team of professional fitness instructors.
Cllr Graham Thomas, Swansea Council’s Cabinet Member for Culture, Leisure and Tourism, said: “We’re always seeking ways to encourage as many people as possible in Swansea to become more active and these free activities over the festive period will help to burn off the Christmas calories.
“This is also an ideal opportunity for anyone looking to get in shape in the New Year to get a headstart.”
Amy Lloyd, Swansea Council’s Fitness Manager, said: “The inductions give people the chance to have a personal exercise programme designed to match their specific goals and abilities.
“Our fitness team will be on hand to offer advice and help to people over the Christmas period and beyond that will help them to get the most from their training sessions.”
Free swimming is available at Active Swansea’s four pools in the Cefn Hengoed, Morriston, Penlan and Penyrheol leisure centres.
