Pembrokeshire County Council is to increase charges on its gypsy sites throughout the County from April.
The Council’s Cabinet decided to increase pitch rents from £29.75p to £40 a week at its meeting this morning.
At the same time Cabinet decided to increase water charges for pitch holders from £5.15p to £7.
The rises cover pitches at sites at Kingsmoor Common, Castle Quarry, Under the Hills and Withybush. The site at Waterloo is due to close.
Councillor David Simpson, Cabinet Member for Housing and Sustainability said the increase was the first such rise in 10 years and was well below inflation over a 10 year period.
At the same meeting the Cabinet also recommended a 2% rise in council house rents from April 5th.
A final decision on council house rents will be made at full Council on February 25th.
