Have your say on Caerphilly planning issues

Caerphilly county borough council was the first local authority in Wales to adopt a major document called a Local Development Plan (LDP).

The LDP identifies where new developments such as housing, employment, community facilities and roads will go. It sets out the council’s land use policies and proposals to control development in the county borough up to 2021, and provides the basis by which planning applications will be determined.

The council is committed to raising the design quality of all new developments in the area and has prepared Supplementary Planning Guidance (LDP12: Shop Fronts & Advertisements) to support the policies contained within the Adopted Local Development Plan.

The purpose of LDP12 is to provide guidance on the design of shop fronts and advertisements in the county borough. It is aimed at assisting all owners, designers and shop fitters in preparing proposals for creating, retaining or altering a shop front or a display sign on commercial premises.

We would like to hear your views on this document. It is available to view at the council offices in Pontllanfraith and on the LDP pages of their website. Comments should be submitted in writing to the council by no later than 15th February 2012.
