Have your say on childcare and win £100

Organising childcare is a major consideration for many parents and carers, so Caerphilly county borough council is keen to hear people’s views about the current arrangements on offer within the area.

The council is undertaking a major childcare survey to gather the views of parents, carers and employers – as well as children and young people themselves. All respondents will be automatically entered into a prize draw to win £100 worth of High Street vouchers.

“This is your chance to help us shape the future of childcare for your family” said Cllr Phil Bevan, cabinet member for education and leisure, “Look out for the questionnaire or go online and have your say.”

Special questionnaires will be distributed across the county borough during June and everyone is encouraged to provide feedback to the council on this important matter.

The last Childcare Sufficiency Assessment was carried out in 2007 and over 2,400 people returned a completed questionnaire. The information helped shape childcare services and as a result a further 800 childcare places were established within the county borough.

Consultation will begin after half term when questionnaires will arrive through the post – or anyone can log on to the Early Years website to complete one online. Alternatively call 01443 863232 for further information.
