Gwynedd Council is reviewing the standard and nature of childcare in the county to ensure the service available meets local needs.
There is an opportunity for people to win a number of prizes, including money towards childcare costs and family tickets to local attractions, by filling in a simple questionnaire on the matter.
The aim of the survey is to carry out a comprehensive review of the provision so that the Council can find out what parents need to help them to return to work or training.
Sioned Owen, Early Years Services Manager for Gwynedd Council, said: “Finding the right childcare is one of the most important issues facing parents these days.
“Our society has changed, today we see many families where both parents work and they don’t always live near their extended families so they depend on nurseries or child minders to look after their sons and daughters when they decide to return to work.
“This is why it is crucial that we hear about the experiences and opinions of the county’s parents, employers, children and young people and childcare providers about the standard and nature of the provision available locally.
“I would like to thank those who have already commented and would urge anyone who is interested in this field to give us their feedback.”
The questionnaire is available on the Gwynedd Ni website – the Gwynedd children and young people’s service website – visit www.Gwynedd-Ni.org.uk before 3 December 2010. To receive a paper version of the questionnaire contact Gwynedd Council’s Early Years Unit on 01286 678824.
The names of each person who completes the questionnaire will go into a draw and a number of prizes are up for grabs including a £100 contribution towards child minding fees; family tickets to local attractions and prizes by local supermarkets.
