Grants of up to £4,000 are available for community groups in Gwynedd to fund projects promoting health and wellbeing in the county.
As part of the Health Challenge Gwynedd campaign, community groups or organisations have a chance to submit an application for funding to develop specific projects which promote health and wellbeing locally.
Llinos Roberts, Gwynedd Council Health and Well-Being Facilitator said: “The Health Challenge Gwynedd Alliance is a multi-agency group which brings together the key agencies in Gwynedd working to promote health and wellbeing locally including Gwynedd Council, Public Health Wales and Mantell Gwynedd.
“We are encouraging local residents to eat healthily and to take part in physical activity as much as possible, but by funding specific projects which will work in communities throughout Gwynedd, we are confident that we can make a real difference to the lives of Gwynedd residents.”
Health Challenge Gwynedd is keen to fund projects in Gwynedd which are based on the following themes:
- Healthy eating
- Physical activity
- Sexual Health
- Good mental health
- Reducing smoking
- Reducing injuries to children
- Reducing alcohol misuse
Grants of between £500 and £4,000 are available. All applications must be submitted by 24 June 2010.
