Health Minister Edwina Hart will open a new primary care resource centre at Abergele.
The new centre includes the Abergele Surgery Practice and provides six GPs to care for almost 15,000 local residents. The new facility will allow the surgery to become a training practice. The centre will enhance the provision of services for other health professionals, which in the past has been restricted due to lack of facilities.
Mrs Hart said:
“I’m delighted to be here again after attending the surgery’s turf cutting ceremony just over a year ago. This new surgery, supported by Welsh Assembly Government funding, will dramatically improve patient services and the working environment for staff.
“I am committed to improving frontline health services to the people of Wales and this new surgery offers enhanced services as well as providing training facilities for future healthcare professionals.
“As well as its range of impressive services, the stained glass windows are a beautiful feature and one that I’m sure will come to become a local landmark in the community.”
