Residents are once again urged to help bring the magic of Christmas to vulnerable young people – as the popular Santa Appeal is launched for 2010.
Rhondda Cynon Taf Council is urging people to make contact and donate gifts to young boys and girls to ensure they all have a present to open on Christmas Day.
Last year, a staggering 2,000 presents were donated to the appeal by kind-hearted residents who wanted to play their part in the important campaign.
It is hoped this year’s appeal will be even more successful.
Lines open from November 1 to November 26 and callers will receive details of the age and sex of the child they need to buy for and details of where to drop their gifts off.
Open from 8.30am to 5.pm the lines will be manned by kind-hearted Council staff who have agreed to help out.
Cllr Annette Davies, Cabinet Member for Children’s Services and Equalities, said: “The Santa Appeal has been an enormous success in recent years and we hope people will help out this year and donate a present for a child.
“It does not have to be a large or expensive gift, it is the thought that counts. Any brand-new present, which is matched to the child’s age, will be hugely appreciated.
Lines for the Santa Appeal open for staff on 25 October and will remain open between the hours of 8.30am and 5pm, Monday to Friday, until November 26.
