Volunteers will meet with council officials and Neighbourhood Policing Teams again next week to look at how they can contribute to help make Caerphilly county borough even safer.
The Safer Caerphilly Volunteer Network is a group of dedicated volunteers comprised of active members of the community.
The third of an ongoing programme of three monthly events will be held on Monday 13th September at Caerphilly County Borough Council’s headquarters Penallta House, between 5.45pm and 8pm.
Any one interested in joining this ever-growing community volunteer network is invited to come along and find out more.
This group of dedicated volunteers act as the vital direct link between crime and disorder fighting agencies and the communities they serve in Caerphilly county borough.
Tea and coffee will be available free at the event upon arrival.
Cllr Lyn Ackerman, Cabinet Member for the Environment and a trained Community Crime Fighter said, “Multi agency working is vital in our quest for even safer communities, and it is especially pleasing that we also have the local knowledge and commitment of this dedicated group of volunteers to work with us in achieving our goal”.
The Safer Caerphilly Volunteer Network is a key part of the Home Office’s national neighbourhood crime and justice initiative ‘Justice Seen Justice Done’, of which Caerphilly is a pioneer area.
The initiative aims to build community confidence in how crime and disorder is tackled and justice delivered.
