High Winds are continuing to sweep across West, and South Wales. The Met Office have issued an amber warning which stays in place saying in place until 23:55 BST, saying: “The public should be aware that this could lead to difficult driving conditions and perhaps some disruption to outdoor activities.”

South Wales Fire Service attended an incident on Wellfield Roath, Roath, Cardiff where the winds had caused signs come lose, and removed them from a building (see top photograph). An eyewitness reported that one of the signs narrowly missed falling on a group of youths who were walking underneath it.

We also understand that two people were injured when a shop sign fell in Windors Road, Penarth rendering one female pedestrian unconscious.
