The Isle of Anglesey County Council has chosen local company Hogan Construction to maintain its highway surfaces.
The new six year contract was signed as Brian Hogan (Chief Executive) and Peter Hogan (Managing Director) met with Council Leader, Councillor Clive McGregor, in Llangefni recently.
In awarding the contract, Anglesey’s Highways Service recognised the company’s commitment to quality, continuous improvement, its ability to protect the environment and work sustainably.
Highways portfolio holder, Councillor Eurfryn Davies, welcomed the awarding of the new contract. He said, “Hogan Construction is an established local company, with head offices in Gwalchmai and Bangor, as well as nearly 50 years experience in the construction industry.”
“We’ve already built a successful partnership with the company, as it delivered our previous pavement maintenance contract during the past seven years.”
Hogan Construction employs around 100 people and provides more specialist work to a wide range of local sub-contractors.
The company will recycle 100% of waste material from this contract at its own recycling plant on the Island. It will use innovative materials and processes that will put Anglesey at the forefront of sustainable surfacing in the UK.
Hogan Construction Chief Executive, Brian Hogan, said, “The fact that the original contract term has now been extended reflects the success of our partnership to date. We’re now looking forward to continuing to work with the Isle of Anglesey County Council so that together we can deliver a world-class surfacing service for the Island.”
He added, “Hogan Construction will provide further work opportunities for local organisations and will ensure that the benefits of new employment are felt in local communities.”
