Advice on how to stay safe in the home will be offered to local residents at a free event in Bargoed next week.
Officers from the Bargoed Neighbourhood Policing Team, together with Special Constables, will be holding the event on Thursday 3rd December at Ebenezer Church in Pengam.
The doors open at 6.30pm, with the event starting at 7pm.
Local neighbourhood officers will be offering advice on a range of issues such as how to stay safe in the home, including details on the ‘Bobby Van’ scheme and ‘Nominate a Neighbour’ scheme.
The South Wales Fire and Rescue Service will also be at the event talking to residents about the importance of smoke alarms and giving tips on fire safety, as well as staying safe while driving.
A representative from Digital UK will be offering advice on what residents need to do ahead of the digital television switchover next year.
Attendees will also be treated to a performance by the Cefn Hengoed Ladies Choir.
There will be free refreshments at the event, together with a free raffle prize draw.
