Primary school pupils from the Brecon area have been finding out about their local history.
Pupils from years five and six visited Brecon Library to carry out research using primary source material. The events were based around the popular ‘Horrible Histories’ series, designed to get children interested in history by concentrating on fun and unusual stories.
Schools who took part were Llanfaes, Cradoc, Talgarth, Bronllys, St Josephs, Archdeacon Griffiths, Llyswen, Llangors and Sennybridge Primary Schools.
A similar event is being held in North Powys next week. The events are being run by Powys County Council’s Libraries, Archives and Museum services are being funded by a Learning Development Grant from the Welsh Assembly Government.
