Horton and Port Eynon RNLI join other rescue services to assist a man with knee injury

Horton and Port Eynon RNLI inshore lifeboat launched toassist both the air ambulance and the Coastguard service to help transport a man who had suffered a knee injury to an awaiting ambulance crew on Port Eynon beach.

The man who had been walking on the rocks near to the point had suffered a suspected dislocated knee.

A smoke flare was set off so that the air ambulance could gauge wind direction and locate the casualty. The helicopter managed to land on the small rocky island near Salthouse point but was unable to get close enough to the casualty.

The RNLI lifeboat was then called to carefully take the man ashore where an ambulance crew was waiting to assist the casualty. He was then taken by road to hospital.
