An innovative partnership between the Welsh Assembly Government, Denbighshire County Council and Conwy County Borough Council and the Bay Life Initiative has led to the appointment of a Coastal Housing Enabler as part of the North Wales Coastal Regeneration Area.
The aim of the Coastal Housing Enabler is to work alongside town and county councils, community and voluntary organisations, housing associations and statutory bodies to measure and identify the nature of the housing need in key priority areas within the Regeneration Areas – Colwyn Bay, Pensarn and West Rhyl.
Over the coming months the Coastal Housing Enabler will carrying out surveys in order to create as detailed an image as is possible of the housing situation in order to ensure that the local housing needs and aspirations of those that live and work in the key priority areas are reflected within the important work of the Regeneration Area.
The North Wales Coastal Regeneration Area is one of 5 areas across Wales established by the Welsh Assembly Government in support with other bodies in order to ensure effective co-operation with a range of stakeholders to raise the quality of life in these areas and to rid the areas of their negative images that have developed over time. This work involves a number of fields, with housing one important element of this.
Any members of the public who wish to learn more about the work of the Coastal Housing Enabler or would like to assist with focus groups or in any other way can contact Siôn Wynne, the Coastal Housing Enabler on 01824 712936 or by emailing [email protected].
