Wales attack coach Rob Howley has warned his side not to under-estimate Samoa in tonight’s Invesco Perpetual Series clash at the Millennium Stadium.
Howely was Wales captain when his side lost to Samoa in the 1999 World Cup, so knows all about the Pacific islanders.
“The Millennium Stadium brings the best out of Samoa and they love playing in Cardiff,” said Howley. “With what their country has gone through in the last six or seven weeks, there is certainly an added incentive to show their country that Samoan rugby is in a very good place.”
Wales are hoping to bounce back from last weekend’s narrow defeat to New Zealand.
“We have certainly told the players that the coaches want three out of three wins,” said Howley. “That is what we are looking for and we now we have to step up in certain areas if we are going to achieve that. We have learnt a lot from the New Zealand game and we have traditionally improved in every game during the autumn campaign.”
The WRU has organised a bucket collection at the Millennium Stadium for the victims of the recent tsunami in Samoa.
