With less than a year to go before the National Eisteddfod visits the Wrexham area, organisers are preparing a list of hotels, guest-houses, bed and breakfast properties, private houses and self catering facilities for visitors attending the Wrexham and District National Eisteddfod, from 30 July – 6 August next year.
The Eisteddfod is held on the land of Lower Berse Farm, which is convenient for Wrexham itself, the local area and for the main roads connecting the town with other parts of Wales and the north of England. The Eisteddfod hopes to attract over 160,000 visitors to the area during the week and a large percentage of these will be looking for somewhere to stay in the surrounding area.
Eisteddfod Organiser, Hywel Wyn Edwards, said:
“We’ve already received information from a wide range of accommodation providers keen to appear on our accommodation list, but places are filling up quickly. The response to the 2011 Eisteddfod at this year’s festival was excellent, and many people have already been in touch with hotels and so on locally to ensure that they’ve got somewhere to stay close to the Maes next year.
“We’re encouraging anyone with accommodation available during Eisteddfod week to get in touch with us to be included on the list which we’ll be publishing on our website over the next few weeks. It’ll be updated regularly between now and next August. This is also the list we’ll be sending to anyone who contacts the office asking for local accommodation in the Wrexham area.”
Anyone interested can complete the online accommodation registration form by going to the 2011 Eisteddfod website – www.eisteddfod.org.uk – and click on ‘Accommodation’. You can also download the form from the website and return via email – [email protected] or by sending it to Elinor Jones, Eisteddfod Office, Unit 15, Mold Business Park, Wrexham Road, Mold CH7 1XP.
The Eisteddfod is not responsible for any arrangement between accommodation providers and visitors and, and they will not include details of rates or facilities. There is no charge for appearing on the list and they will not act as an agency in any circumstances.
