Hull Truck Theatre presents… Me and Me Dad

At The Met Abertillery on Friday 5th March 2010 at 7.30pm There have been some great sequels over the years – Terminator II, Batman Returns and Die Hard II – and Me and Me Dad promises to continue that tradition! Me and Me Dad is the latest play from Hull Truck’s Associate Director Nick Lane and is the sequel to the massively popular and critically acclaimed play My Favourite Summer.

My Favourite Summer told the story of Dave, who spent a summer working alongside a nutcase called Melvin to try and earn enough money to impress the girl of his dreams. It all went spectacularly and hilariously wrong – but what happened to Dave next?

In Me and Me Dad we pick up the story several years later – Dave is still an aspiring actor, now renamed Andy, and has moved to London to follow his dream. But when his mum dies, Dave decides to move back home with his dad. In the following weeks, they bond as Dave teaches his dad to cook – a massive task as until then his dad had needed a recipe for toast!

Watch as they fight memories – and occasionally each other – and threaten the sanity of friends and neighbours, not to mention Andy’s girlfriend!

Me and Me Dad is a heart-warming but bittersweet comedy that will appeal to all generations.

Tickets are on sale now priced at £10 each.
