Residents of Blaenau Gwent are invited to attend a series of meetings to discuss how community relationships can be improved.
The Blaenau Gwent Community Cohesion Steering Group has arranged four awareness sessions, one for each town, for members of the community to attend and discuss issues in relation to their community.
All the sessions all run from 5pm to 8pm at a venue in each local area on the following dates:
- Monday 21st March 2011— Metropole Conference Centre, Abertillery
- Monday 28th March 2011 — Kidz R Us, Tredegar
- Thursday 31st March 2011 — Winchestown Pensioners Hall, Nantyglo
- Wednesday 6th April 2011— Ebbw Vale Institute
Inspector Phillip Morris, partnerships lead for Gwent Police in Blaenau Gwent, said: “The aim of these meetings is to raise awareness around community cohesion, explore what it is, and what hate crimes are.
We are interested to know what the main issues are in each area, so all the organisations involved in the steering group can concentrate their efforts on improving cohesion within these communities over the next year.”
Refreshments will be provided, along with transport. If you require transport to the event please call 01495 315626, or send an email to [email protected]
