Services likely to be affected by strike action:
• Collections of refuse, garden waste, cardboard and trade waste will not take place on Thursday. Instead, residents are asked to put out these bins/ bags by 7am on Saturday 12 July. (It should be noted that collections of doorstep recycling boxes and food waste by Wastesavers will not be affected by industrial action.)
• The Household Waste Recycling Centre and landfill site will be closed
The following libraries will be closed:
- Central,
- Bettws,
- Malpas,
- Ringland,
- Tredegar House,
- Rivermead,
- St Julian’s
Other
- Newport museum and art gallery will be closed
- Newport Register Office will be closed to the general public, only opening for pre-booked ceremonies
- The Transporter Bridge will be operating but there will be no access to the high level
- No burials will be taking place but cemeteries will be open
- Brynglas centre and Parklands day service will operate a reduced service. Ringwood Centre will not be operational. Clients of the centre have been directly informed.
- Public or personal land charges services will not be available.
It is anticipated that the following services will not be affected and will be open/ operating as normal:
- Leisure centres (NISV, Newport Centre, Active Living Centre)
- Caerleon Golf course
- Gwent crematorium
- Parks
- The Riverfront
- Car parks
