Jewellery store staff in Wrexham are brewing up for a major fundraising drive for a cancer charity.
As part of Macmillan Cancer Support’s 21st World’s Biggest Coffee Morning on September 30, staff at F. Hinds in the busy Eagles Meadow shopping centre will be sticking the kettle on for their customers in return for a donation.
It is all part of the charity’s annual coffee morning event prompting people all across the UK to relax with a hot drink in order to raise cash for the worthy cause, which provides practical, medical, emotional and financial support to cancer sufferers and their families.
Carl Evans, deputy manager of Wrexham’s F.Hinds, who has worked for the company for more than 19 years, said: “It will be a lovely opportunity for us to have a chat and a cuppa with some of our customers and make them feel really welcome, which is what we strive to do at all times.
“Being a family run business, this sort of fundraiser suits the company well because we are all about taking the time to be friendly and helpful with our customers and I think we are all in agreement that Macmillan Cancer Support is a fantastic cause for us to raise money for.
“So I would urge anyone doing some shopping in Wrexham that day to come along and take a break with us for a while.”
As part of the partnership with Macmillan, F, Hinds has created an exclusive charm to mark the occasion. The Tingle Silver Strawberry Cupcake Charm can be attached to numerous types of bracelets, necklace chains, handbags, zippers or phones and for every one sold, £15 will be donated to the cancer support charity.
Andrew Hinds, director of F.Hinds, echoed Carl’s sentiments and said: “The support that Macmillan provides is invaluable, and we are delighted to get involved. F. Hinds has an enviable reputation for friendly, knowledgeable and helpful staff, and this is an opportunity for our customers to get to know us even better.”
Sally Hill, Corporate Partnership Account Manager for Macmillan Cancer Support said: “A cup of coffee and a cupcake, even non edible sparkly ones, really do make a huge difference and will help people affected by cancer.
“Whether it’s a coffee morning at work, an afternoon tea party with the girls or a lively curry night at the rugby club every World’s Biggest Coffee Morning event, no matter how small or large, will help Macmillan make a real difference.
