Wrexham Assembly Member Lesley Griffiths has met with Creation Campers, an innovative local business who have benefited from a flagship Welsh Government youth employment scheme.
Established in 2008, the husband and wife team specialise in bespoke camper van conversions, providing unique designs to suit the customers’ needs and budget. Their business has moved from strength to strength, with their positive reputation attracting clients from as far afield as France.
The company has now benefited from Jobs Growth Wales. The programme provides young people, aged 16 to 24, with a job opportunity for six months. After the six months is complete, it is intended that the newly created positions will be sustained by the employer.
Creation Campers is one of several Wrexham companies who have benefited from Jobs Growth Wales.
After her visit, Lesley Griffiths AM said:
“Altogether across Wales, over 10,500 young people have been helped into work by Jobs Growth Wales, which is proving to be one of, if not the most successful youth employment scheme in Europe.”
“Not only does it benefit businesses and the economy, but it is also providing meaningful employment for young people right across Wales.”
“I was keen to see how it was operating and supporting local businesses so it was great to meet the Creation Campers team and hear their positive experiences of the programme.”
“The fact the company are also considering further recruitment via Jobs Growth Wales is fantastic news and it was pleasing to see a successful Welsh Government scheme is making a difference to an innovative Wrexham business.”
