The Vaynol Country Music Festival announces its 2014 line up, which will be headlined by the very popular Welsh Language duo John and Alun.
John and Alun were brought up in Tudweiliog in the beautiful Llyn Peninsula during the late 50’s. Following the success of “John ac Alun” most of their time goes on arranging gigs and composing songs and material for thir weekly slot on BBC Radio Cymru. They have had a string of successful albums to their name, a song book as well as a biographical volume tracing their career as Wales leading Country duo.
Myfyr Jones, the owner of the Vaynol Estate said:
“last year was our first Festival which turned out to be a great success with Andy and Iona headlining the festival. Although the majority of this year’s artists are top British UK Country Artists it’s very important that a Festival such as ours held here in Wales gives a stage to our top Welsh Country Music Artists.”
As an added bonus last year Ysgol Bontnewydd’s award winning Brass band were given a stage and totally wowed the audience who had come from the length and breadth of the UK.
The band were given a standing ovation and had to perform numerous encores” Myfyr Jones added perhaps I have another trick up my sleeve this year which will wow the audience, you will have to be there to see”
This year’s line-up will include British Music Award Winners the John Smith Band and the top UK female vocalist the wonderful Ms Nancy Ann Lees, they will be supported by the following artists:
Richard Palmer, Mel Paul and Mary Lacey, Zenne, Fools Gold, Nancy Ann Lee, John Taylor Band, Calico, Glenn Rogers, Picassos, Steve Place, Clear Cut, Next of Kin, and John Permenter who are all extremely well known on the UK Country Music scene.
The event will once again this year be compared by the ever popular Dave Cash who will also perform a set.
The Festival is held once again this year in a heated marquee with a capcity for a 1,000 people seated in cabaret format, on the grounds of the Vaynol Estate in Bangor North Wales. This year the Festival will be held from the 12-15th of June instead of September as it was last year in the hope that the weather will be kinder to us. Camping facilities together with a bar and first class catering will be provided again this year.
