Clwyd West MP, David Jones, has welcomed the announcement by Royal Mail that it will not be transferring its delivery office operations from Colwyn Bay to Llandudno.
Royal Mail has conducted a feasibility study into the future of the Colwyn Bay delivery office and has decided that it should be retained.
David Jones said:
“I am pleased that Royal Mail has decided to retain its delivery office in Colwyn Bay, which is an important local facility.
“Although Royal Mail had assured me that satisfactory alternative arrangements would be made if operations were transferred to Llandudno, there was nevertheless considerable local concern at the potential impact on services by relocation.
“The announcement will come as a considerable relief to Royal Mail employees as well as to the many customers who value the presence of the delivery office in town.”
