Now firmly established in the city’s events calendar, Joust! makes a welcome return to Cardiff Castle on Saturday and Sunday 19 – 20 June from 10am – 5.30pm.
A day packed full of medieval all-action adventure is promised, with the Knights of Royal England psyched up and raring to go, all set to wow audiences with their horse back stunts, knock-about humour and death-defying demonstrations of the noble art of jousting.
And new for this year is the attempt to re-enact the famous Battle of Agincourt. Everyone in the crowd will be invited to join in the mammoth re-staging of this historic event, under the command of a professional fight director. You can choose to be French, English or perhaps, more appropriately, one of the band of skilful Welsh archers who were instrumental in winning this battle.
With a medieval encampment to explore, strolling minstrels, sword fighting, combat displays, junior jousting skills and drills, storytelling sessions of spell-binding myths and legends, visitors will easily imagine they have stepped back centuries. Be part of the action and come in your own medieval costume – the chance for children to be a princess, prince or a knight for the day.
