Visitors to a city beauty spot are in for a treat this month when Swansea celebrates the annual Clyne in Bloom festival.
Clyne in Bloom lasts throughout May and includes the internationally famous Rhododendrons and Azaleas in their full splendour.
Visitors can also take a guided tour of the gardens every Wednesday and Saturday from 2pm to 4pm and experience everything Clyne has to offer. This includes the Azalea garden, the wild flower meadow, the bog garden, bluebell wood and the tallest recorded magnolia in Britain.
A number of wildlife walks, children’s activities and band concerts for all ages to enjoy are also being made available.
Children can let their imagination run wild at the art workshops and take inspiration from the beautiful natural surroundings or relax and listen to an exciting story alongside the Magical Story Tree taking place every Sunday from 3pm to 5pm.
Music lovers will also be pleased to hear that some of Swansea’s finest brass bands will be performing in free concerts at the attraction every Sunday from 3pm to 5pm. Guided wildlife walks are taking place every Wednesday from 10am to noon.
The popular Rare Plant Sale will be held on Sunday May 16 from 10am to 5pm.
Steve Hopkins, Swansea Council Specialist Parks Development Manager, said: “The gardens are spectacular all-year-round with May being the ideal time to really appreciate the gardens in all their glory.
“People can come and experience what the gardens have to offer and also enjoy a whole host of fun activities and events. There really is a reason for everyone to visit.”
