The Safer Blaenau Gwent Community Safety Partnership is helping to keep town centres safe this Christmas and New Year with Operation Street Safe.
Blaenau Gwent Council is working with Gwent Police and other emergency services.
Street patrols have been stepped up, people are being reminded to drink responsibly and licensed premises are being checked.
St John’s Ambulance will be helping out on busy nights – providing emergency treatment where needed. Extra street cleansing and litter wardens have also been arranged.
Coun Des Hillman, chair of the Safer Blaenau Gwent partnership, said:
“We have teamed up with the police through the Community Safety Partnership to provide a more visible and reassuring presence on the streets.”
