Wales and Scarlets fly half Stephen Jones has donned his special Children in Need Wales beanie hat for the announcement that Welsh presenter Alex Jones will front the half-time entertainment during the special Children in Need International against Fiji on Friday, 19 November.
Alex Jones, the new female host of The One Show, will present the BBC Cymru Wales charity spectacular live from the pitch when Wales take on their World Cup Nemesis side Fiji in the forthcoming Invesco Perpetual Autumn Series, which kicks-off with Wales v Australia on Saturday, 6 November at 2.30pm.
The live half-time entertainment will be beamed across the UK as part of the BBC’s Children in Need Appeal and Stephen Jones has urged fans to get hold of their own BBC Cymru Wales beanie hats for the Millennium Stadium showdown.
“Looking up from the Millennium Stadium pitch to be met by 74,500 cheering fans is a special moment for all international rugby players and it means a lot to me and all of the team when we experience the support of the Welsh crowd,” said the former British & Irish Lions fly half.
“At Wales v Fiji next month, fans will not only be backing the boys but also supporting a worthy cause and raising money for disadvantaged children if they get themselves a special Children in Need beanie.
“It would be great to look up and see red Pudsey hats all around the Stadium and I’m sure that with Alex Jones presenting a fantastic live show at half-time and some great rugby on the pitch, the fans will have a great experience when Wales face Fiji on Friday 19 November.”
Welsh rugby’s Friday night fixture against the Fijians, which traditionally attracts families and groups of children due to the discounted rate available for under 16s, is guaranteed to be a great occasion, with more star-studded announcements to follow.
