Denbighshire County Council is reminding residents to keep an eye on elderly neighbours, friends or relatives at this time to make sure they remain safe and well.
They would also like to remind residents that, with help from a range of organisations, Denbighshire has produced a leaflet which contains information on how to keep warm this winter. To request a copy of this leaflet, please call the councilʼs Welfare Rights Unit on 0800 169 6625 or email: [email protected].
The main benefits which you might be able to claim are:
- Cold Weather Payments which are automatically paid during cold snaps to some people on Income Support, Jobseekers Allowance and Employment and Support Allowance.
- Winter Fuel Payments a lump sum paid if you are over 60 in September.
- Insulation Schemes and Home Energy Efficiency Scheme (HEES)
They are working with Warm Wales to support the installation of new heating systems and loft and cavity wall insulation to properties in certain areas. Welfare Rights Advice will be offered as part of this package which is available to homeowners and landlords with a home in the following areas:
Contact Warm Wales to find out more about this exciting new scheme on 01978 667114 or by email: [email protected].
