This summer looks set be a real sizzler thanks to an exciting programme of events offering something for the whole family.
The Big Cheese returns to Caerphilly next week (Fri 23 – Sun 25 July) when tens of thousands of people flock to the festival site at the rear of Caerphilly Castle to soak up the sun and sunshine on offer at this popular annual event.
Caerphilly comes to life as visitors enjoy an extravaganza of music, living history encampments, dance, a huge funfair, falconry, fire eating, craft stalls, food halls, comedy and much more.
The Big Cheese is a FREE event and kicks off on Friday evening with the Great Cheese Race at 6.30pm followed by an entertainment programme which includes a spectacular fireworks display at 10pm. The festival then gets into full swing throughout Saturday and Sunday.

Then, on Friday 20th August the focus shifts to Blackwood for the first ever ‘Blackwood Kite Night’ when a colourful array of large kites take to the air above the Showfields from 4.00pm. On Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd August the Bedwellty and County Show takes place at the same venue with livestock, horse exhibits, trade stands & craft displays.
