Welsh Conservatives today revealed that the Assembly Government Cabinet has only once met outside Cardiff – and that was in Merthyr Tydfil.
Welsh Conservative AMs in North Wales have condemned Labour-Plaid’s admission, which reveals a neglect of the issues facing the people of North Wales.
In a joint statement, Clwyd West AM Darren Millar and North Wales AMs Mark Isherwood and Brynle Williams said, “This is an astounding admission from Labour-Plaid that the Welsh Cabinet has failed to meet outside its South Wales bunkers in Cardiff and Merthyr Tydfil.
“This Cardiff-centric administration has failed to recognise the distinct needs of the people of North Wales.
“Coming just days after the Health Minister caused a storm calling North Wales health campaigners ‘mischief makers’, this again shows a lack of understanding of the problems facing people in North Wales.
“The Labour-Plaid Cabinet needs to leave its plush Cardiff offices to see first-hand many of the issues affecting North Wales communities.
“Welsh Conservatives are the voice of North Wales in Cardiff, not Cardiff’s voice in North Wales.”
