Wrexham County Borough Council along with their Sports Development team are welcoming final nominations for this year’s prestigious Sports Awards 2010.
The event highlights the excellent work of local people in local communities in and around Wrexham and recognises the outstanding achievements of athletes, coaches and volunteers who strive to achieve sporting excellence in Wrexham.
The presentation evening is being held on Friday 19th November 2010 at Brymbo Sports & Social Complex. Wrexham Council is encouraging all sports clubs, schools and volunteers to nominate groups or individuals who deserve recognition in one or more categories for the outstanding work and athletic achievement they have earned over the last twelve months.
Councillor Bob Dutton OBE, Lead Member for Communities and Performance said:
“Wrexham County Borough Sports Awards is a fantastic way of recognising athletic achievements in Wrexham and gives members of the public the opportunity to take part in celebrating the fantastic sports men and women we have here in Wrexham”.
“The strength of the awards can be seen in the calibre of previous winners who include the twice Commonwealth Games competitor Lowri Tynan. I encourage all local teams and individuals who contribute on a small or large scale to sporting achievements and clubs in the area to get involved and have the opportunity to truly celebrate your success.”
