Ireland’s Alan Lewis will referee Wales’ summer clash with world champions South Africa at the Millennium Stadium on Saturday 5 June.
One of his fellow countrymen, George Clancy, will then take charge of the first of Wales’ two Tests against the All Blacks later in the month. Clancy will be in the middle for the first Test in Dunedin on 19 June, while South Africa’s Jonathan Kaplan will control the second test in Hamilton on 26 June. Welsh referee Nigel Owens has been given charge of England’s first Test against Australia in Perth on 12 June and will be the number one touch judge for the second Test in Sydney a week later. Owens will also control the Tri Nations game between South Africa and New Zealand in Johannesburg on 21 August. He is then due to be the number one touch judge for the Tri Nations clashes between South Africa and Australia on 28 August and 4 September.
