Horton and Port Eynon lifeboat station mechanic Steve W Davies received his 20 year service badge from Rear Admiral John Tolhurst, chairman of the RNLI costal review team, who visited the station on Tuesday 24 January.
As well as looking after the lifeboat and supporting the station, Steve gives regular lifeboat talks to hundreds of school children each year from all over South Wales and beyond. Steve has natural enthusiasm for all things lifeboats, and gets over the safety side of enjoying yourself at the seaside to children. Steve served as a crew member from 1991, becoming the stations mechanic later on.
