Literature Wales launches Dylan Live at Cardiff Airport this Today

Literature-WalesTravellers at Cardiff Airport’s departure lounge will be treated to music and words from some of Wales’ top emerging talent this Thursday as Literature Wales launches its Dylan Live project with a special preview performance.

Dylan Live is a show which traces the origins of hip hop back to Dylan Thomas’s trip to New York in 1952. The bilingual performance incorporates vinyl, jazz, beat poetry, hip hop and spoken word. Performers include professor and jazz musician, Daniel Williams, poets, Martin Daws, Aneirin Karadog and Zaru Jonson, jazz musician Huw V Williams and hip hop artist Ed Holden, all of whom have been influenced by Dylan in some way or another.

Dylan Live is one of the components for Developing Dylan, which is part of the official Dylan Thomas 100 Festival celebrations, and is supported by the Department for Education and Skills.

The launch of Dylan Live will take place on Thursday 23 January at the departures lounge, Cardiff Airport between 9.00 am and 11.00 am. The collection of multimedia exhibitions and events at Cardiff airport give visitors and residents a taste of the range of activities, attractions and heritage available to them in Wales.
