Litter…What Litter?

Thanks to the efforts of PCSO Sabrina Beedham and a team of volunteers a Kinmel Bay estate should now be free of litter.

Having walked around Chester Avenue in Kinmel Bay PCSO Beedham realised that litter was mounting up on the estate, so to tackle the problem she recently linked with other agencies to arrange a litter pick.

With the help of Lynne Dunkley and Jennifer Dutton from Communities First and Ceri Morris of Keep Wales Tidy, together with a number of young people they managed to collect six bin bags full of rubbish.

PCSO Beedham said: “The event was a great success with a fantastic turn out. A number of young people volunteered their time to help tidy the estate up. As well as managing to collect bags full of rubbish we managed to educate local residents on littering.”

With the help of Cartrefi Conwy PCSO Beedham will make every effort to tackle the issue of litter. They will be looking at the residents responsible and making sure that litter is not left outside properties

Anyone seen littering could be eligible for a £75 fine.

“Please be warned that I will be issuing fines if I witness anyone dropping litter bringing down the appearance of the area,” stressed PCSO Beedham.
