Youngsters are promised a spooky Halloween day to remember at a Welsh centre of excellence this half-term holiday.
Face painting and apple dunking are on offer to youngsters at Bodnant Welsh Food Centre in the Conwy Valley from Monday October 26 until Halloween on October 31.
Staff will be in fancy dress, while Bodnant’s butchery manager Jason Fraser has devised Halloween themed treats, including Fire Cracker and Toffee Apple sausages.
Plus there will also be pumpkin carving classes – with every large pumpkin sold, shoppers will get a voucher for a free children’s meal in the Tea Room.
Bodnant Welsh Food Centre managing director Chris Morton said: “We are aiming for half-term to be a lot of fun at the centre, and a great place for youngsters to celebrate Halloween.
“We will have face painters on hand so children can come in their Halloween outfits and get the finishing touches to ensure they look their scariest best for their parties at home, or when they go out Trick or Treating on October 31.
“Plus Anglesey vegetable champion Medwyn William has delivered some lovely pumpkins, which are perfect for carving and to also create some great recipes.”
Bodnant’s dairy also makes ice-creams that are sold in the centre’s tearooms, Hayloft restaurant and the farm shop, along with butter that is still patted and shaped by hand, and sold wrapped in greaseproof paper.
Bodnant was named Welsh Retailer of the Year in the prestigious Farm Shop and Deli Awards – dubbed the industry’s Oscars.
Based in a lovingly restored building dating from the 18th century, the food centre employs more than 80 people. It received a fanfare opening by the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall in 2012 and last year welcomed 243,000 visitors from around the globe.
