Shadow Health Minister, Darren Millar teamed up with Aberconwy AM Janet Finch- Saunders last week for a visit to Llandudno Hospital.
During the visit on Friday they toured the hospital and had the opportunity to meet with patients, staff, the Chief Executive and the Chair of the Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board to discuss the future development of the hospital.
Speaking after the visit Darren Millar said:
‘With its budget due to be slashed by around £1 billion over the next three years, the NHS in Wales is facing an unprecedented number of challenges.
‘This visit was an important opportunity for Janet and I to meet front line staff and talk through some of the issues the NHS in North Wales is facing and to hear more about the local health board’s plans for Llandudno Hospital.
‘I was encouraged by the clear commitment to invest in services at Llandudno Hospital and, as Shadow Minister for Health and an Assembly Member in an area which relies on services delivered at the Hospital, I will continue to monitor developments as they are rolled out.’
Janet Finch Saunders said:
‘I’m delighted to welcome Darren as Shadow Health Minister to Llandudno Hospital.
‘As the Assembly Member for Aberconwy, I’ll be continuing to ensure that there is no further downgrading of services at Llandudno hospital.’
