The Lloyd George Museum, Llanystumdwy will be part of a new documentary which traces the relationship between the former-Prime Minister and his two wives.
The film crew were busy around the Llanystumdwy area – visiting the Lloyd George Museum and Ty Newydd in Llanystumdwy; Pencaenewydd and Criccieth as they prepared the new TV documentary.
Ffion Hague presents the one hour documentary on the relationship between Lloyd George and his wives – Margaret Owen and Frances Stevenson, charting the women’s extraordinary influence on the Llanystumdwy-raised David Lloyd George’s career.

“We hope the programme will encourage more people to show an interest in the history of David Lloyd George and to come along to the Museum in Llanystumdwy to learn more about his life and times.”
In the programme Ffion Hague, author of “The Pain and the Privilege: The Women in Lloyd George’s Life”, embarks on a journey from the remote beauty of Bardsey Island – one of Lloyd George’s first meetings with his future wife, Margaret – through to the bustling London political social scene where he encountered his mistress, Frances.
The documentary, “ Dwy Wraig Lloyd George, gyda Ffion Hague” (“ The Two Wives of Lloyd George, with Ffion Hague”) will be broadcast on S4C on Sunday, 20 September at 9pm.
Also, on Friday evening, 18 October, Professor Hywel Teifi Edwards will give a Welsh language lecture arranged by the Friends of the Lloyd George Museum.
