Llys Eleanor Summer Fete – Saturday 18 June 2011

Tenants of Llys Eleanor, the Extra Care Scheme in Shotton, are holding a summer fete on Saturday 18 June.

Llys Eleanor is managed jointly by Flintshire County Council and the Clwyd Alyn Housing Association, part of the Pennaf Housing Group.

The tenants co-ordinate and run the event with help from their family and friends. All of the profits will go into the tenants’ amenities fund for the benefit of everyone.

Councillor Carol Ellis, the Council’s Executive Member for Social Services, said:

“We held a similar event last year and we are hoping that this year’s event is going to be bigger and better than ever. We hope locals will come along and support the fete.”

Steve Robinson, Supported Housing Manager for Clwyd Alyn Housing Association, said:

“It is great to see tenants fully involved in running events, there’s a great sense of community at Llys Eleanor.”

The fete starts at 3pm; highlights include a novelty dog show starting at 3.30pm, and the Clwyd Clippers Barbershop Quartet will be performing at 4pm.

There will be a treasure hunt, a bottle tombola and a bouncy castle. Stalls will be selling a variety of goods, including plants and cakes. Refreshments will also be on sale.
