Local ChildLine appeal – Calling all past and present ChildLine volunteers from North Wales

NSPCCChildLine Prestatyn is celebrating its twentieth anniversary next month and is holding a party to celebrate this phenomenal landmark.

The ChildLine team is on the lookout for anyone who used to volunteer at the North Wales base at any point during the last twenty years.

The event is taking place at the Warren Drive base on Tues 22 October between 5pm and 9pm, with music, festivities and refreshments served throughout the evening. Families will be welcome too.

ChidLine volunteer recruitment co-ordinator Sally King Sheard said; “This is an exciting time for the base and we want to celebrate with everyone who has kept our base going over the last twenty years so if you are an ex volunteer we’d love to see you there or if you are in contact with anyone who has volunteered for ChildLine in the past it would be great if you could let them know too.”

ChildLine is a service provided by the NSPCC and is the UK’s free, confidential 24-hour helpline for children and young people, aiming to provide accessible support and advice to every child in need across the UK. Through ChildLine, trained volunteers offer children comfort and support in times of distress or danger.

Ann Pulling, ChildLine Service Manager in Prestatyn said: “Our volunteers are ordinary people doing extraordinary things to help change and improve children’s lives. We would be thrilled to see old friends and show them around our new base here in Prestatyn.  Who knows, they might even decide to re-join our wonderful team!”
