Sussex (21pts) 284 & 311-9 dec. beat Glamorgan 191 & 203 by 201 runs
Glamorgan fell to a heavy defeat against Sussex in their opening match of the 2010 season.
Glamorgan were without Australian opening batsmen Mark Cosgrove, making entertaining title-favourites Sussex an even greater task, but Glamorgan will be disappointed with the margin of their defeat.
The Welsh county would have been pleased to have won the toss and bowled Sussex out for just 284 in their first innings, with 19-year-old James Harris claiming four wickets. But Glamorgan failed in reply and were dismissed for just 191 with Mike Powell’s 48 the only meaningful contribution.
Sussex pressed home their advantage in their second-innings and extended their lead to 404, despite another four wickets for Harris.
Facing a large target, Glamorgan struggled again and despite Jim Allenby’s 62, they could only muster 203.
