Flat Holm Island is hosting another ideal opportunity for families to get into the Easter spirit this year. Visiting children can take part in a hunt for the special Easter treasure, five miles off the coast of Cardiff.
The fun and games are taking place on Saturday March 27 and Sunday March 28, as well as Friday April 9 and Saturday April 10. While searching for the wardens’ lost eggs, children and adults alike should also be on the lookout for Flat Holm’s very own Easter Bunnies!
A self-guided tour is also on offer, with all the usual highlights, including Victorian gun pits, underground ammunition stores, WWII gun emplacements, flowers and a whole host of wildlife.
Executive Member for Leisure and Culture, Cllr Nigel Howells said: “The Easter activities on Flat Holm are a great opportunity for the whole family to have fun and spend some time in the great outdoors.”
“The island is a spectacular gem in our capital’s crown and there is so much for children and adults to get involved in.
“With so many events planned throughout the next six months I would encourage everyone to try and get across to Flat Holm and either see it for the first time, or rediscover what it has to offer.”
