The West Wales Swimming Championships 2010 will be taking place at Haverfordwest Leisure Centre on the weekends of the 6th and 7th, 13th and 14th of February.
This is the first time the event has been held in Pembrokeshire, and will be the biggest swimming gala ever held in the County.
A total of 264 swimmers have entered the competition from all over the West Wales area with the Pembrokeshire teams of Haverfordwest Seals, Pembroke & District, Tenby Dolphins, Fishguard Flyers and Milford Haven Tigers all well represented.
The event has been made possible by the new quality eight-lane 25m pool with electronic timing, video scoreboard and spectator gallery for over 300 people.
A partnership between Swim Wales, Pembrokeshire County Swimming and Pembrokeshire Leisure has also been instrumental in bringing the event to the County.
The event is licensed at level 2 and swimmers need qualifying times to get into the event. It is being organised by the South West Wales regional panel of Swim Wales and similar events are being held in North Wales and South East Wales.
The gala will consist of individual and relay events, with awards made to the top three in each event.
